Royale Bezjian has been a leader in the rug cleaning industry for over a century. Our rich history began in 1903 with the entrepreneurial spirit of Karl Heinrich Sr. After serving in the United States Marines during World War II, Mr. Heinrich returned to civilian life and purchased a small dry cleaning business in Maywood, Illinois. Driven by a passion for learning and a meticulous eye for detail, he quickly mastered the intricacies of fabric care. He took pride in cleaning a variety of materials and soon gained a reputation for his exceptional expertise.

A customer's request to clean a couch sparked a new chapter in Mr. Heinrich's career. The success of this project inspired him to expand his services. Word of his exceptional cleaning abilities spread, and he found himself inundated with requests for custom furniture and, eventually, area rug cleaning. Recognizing the growing demand for specialized rug care, he established "ROYALE RUG AND FURNITURE CLEANERS, " a testament to his dedication to preserving the beauty and integrity of fine rugs.

Mr. Heinrich's vision extended far beyond simple cleaning. He envisioned a future where rug care was synonymous with technological innovation. In 1959, he fulfilled this dream by purchasing a property in Stone Park, Illinois, specifically designed to house a state-of-the-art rug cleaning plant. This revolutionary facility, equipped with the largest rug cleaning machine in the Midwest at the time, could process thousands of rugs per week, setting a new standard for the industry.

A Legacy of Expertise

Karl Heinrich Jr., inspired by his father's legacy, joined the family business in 1975. He immersed himself in every aspect of the operation, learning the delicate art of in-plant and on-location rug cleaning, as well as the intricacies of oriental rug repair. This hands-on experience, coupled with his father's guidance, equipped him with the knowledge and skills needed to preserve the family enterprise.

In 1985, Karl Heinrich Jr. took the reins, leading Royale Bezjian into a new era of growth and expansion. He strategically acquired other rug cleaning businesses, strategically leveraging the latest technology and techniques to refine their services. This strategic vision allowed Royale Bezjian to cater to an ever-expanding customer base, solidifying its position as the largest rug cleaning service in the Chicago land area.
